The foundations of the enterprise's success were laid in the Belgium capital of Brussels. In the late 40s, Eugen Schmidt, the founder of the enterprise, started with power shift transmissions and hydrodynamic torque converters. As a result of strong post war demand, the business activities quickly exceeded the national borders.
However, soon Esco became a distributor-engineering enterprise. As the links between manufacturer and user developed, Esco provided innovative and economic driving solutions in response to the diversification of the requirements. Combinations of tried-and-tested technologies from leading manufactures together with our own engineering know-how are the basis for our optimal solutions.
International Success based on a Worldwide Network
From the beginning, esco is an international enterprise. The leading idea of "shared resources work more efficiently" was from outset our operation's guiding principle. Today our customers are served by four dynamic, modern enterprises. About 200 employees in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, India, Hong Kong and China ensure a co-ordinated in-depth customer service comprising consulting, design, sales, start-up, maintenance, documentation and training.
In the markets we serve – mechanical and electrical engineering, marine applications, process engineering, utility vehicle and control system manufacture – the name esco is synonymous with innovative and high-quality products backed by an extensive customer orientated culture.
